Sambuca Jazz Cafe Atlanta, GA

Atlanta is a great music town, and I took full advantage of that tonight and used an all Atlanta band. I even had a 21 year old sax player, Ryan Whitehead, sit in on tenor sax. He was great, and the band rocked. This photo is of me with Nakato Blair and Babidye Robinson (yes, they're identical twins!), who gave me my first gig in California with their band “Allure”. They live in Atlanta now, and we’ve always remained friends. They're the best. Thanks for giving me a shot way back when!
The King Center Melbourne, FL

Today’s concert was more than just a show, it was a benefit for disabled children. Thanks for filling up The King Center and helping out a great cause. Thanks to Cindy Adams for this photo of Jay and me.
Good Day Atlanta Atlanta, GA

It’s always fun to be in Atlanta, even if I’m up really early in the morning! I played “Mojo” on the air, and then shopped in Little Five Points and hung with friends!

Yoshi's Oakland, CA

Two nights...perfect at Yoshi's. Always a favorite of mine…you can’t go wrong with sushi and jazz. We even did a $5 matinee for the kids. My favorite part was when I opened up the floor for questions, one little boy pointed to our keyboard player Kevin and asked “What does he do?” Love that.
Jazz and Rib Festival Columbus, OH

I could talk about the show, and how there were people on blankets and chairs as far as the eye could see. But my inspiration? The ribs. Incredible. Really! Can we make this stop every year? Can we be the house band? Thanks to Tom Bordonero for this photo.

The Oasis Las Vegas, NV

I’ve co-hosted all week for the morning show for 107.5 The Oasis. What a fun job, being on the air live every morning. Thanks to everyone who called in and got in on the fun. I even sam with the sharks on my time off!
Jazz At The Beach Oceanside Pier, CA

After soundcheck, the band and I headed to the end of Oceanside Pier and took advantage of the view from there to eat some lunch. The show tonight was inspired …probably by the incredible surroundings and the incredible audience. Peter White told me after the show that it was his best and favorite show this year! WE even got barefoot and climbed up on the speaker stacks to play. It seemed like the right thing to do! Thanks to Cassie, a grade-school friend of Jay's for this candid of me peeking out from backstage before the show.
Jazzfest West Frank Bonelli Park San Dimas, CA

It’s that time of year…. 103 degrees again as we hit the stage today. My father came with me today to watch the show. He’s my sax tech and biggest fan! Thanks to Cary Gillaspie for this photo of Dad.

Rodney Strong Vineyards Healdsburg, CA

Wow, today was a hot one – it was 103 degrees from the stage. I did a wine tasting before the show, and of course ordered a case of my favorites to ship home. The Rockaway is amazing…very limited edition. What a find! The band and I probably had too much fun today!

KOAS The Oasis Las Vegas, NV

I’m in Vegas co-hosting the morning show on the Oasis with Dana. What a blast…but it’s early!! I don’t need a lot of sleep. Not here!!!

Hyatt Newporter Summer Jazz Series Newport Beach, CA

What a great night under the stars. The festival was so fun this year, but playing in the amphitheater is always magical and intimate. It was Jay Gore’s birthday (my guitarist), so we sang to him with a big cake. It really was a great night! Happy Birthday Jay!!!

Jazz In the Woods Overland Park, KS

Sometimes it’s the little things – today it was the baked beans backstage. They changed all of our lives. They were the best all of us have ever had….hands down. What a fun show…people as far as the eye could see, just partying in the partk….beautiful!!

Vacationing in sunny Florida!

Perfection....

Jacksonville Jazz Festival Jacksonville, FL

What an incredible bill today….free on the streets of Jacksonville. We came on in the afternoon to sunny skies…just beautiful! It was so great to play to a home crowd…I spent my first year of college in Jacksonville at UNF, and it was a formative year for me with Bill Prince as my sax teacher…my first sax teacher. It’s always nice to come back and play! After our last song my bass player Andre Berry stole the mic from me and led the audience in "Happy Birthday" in honor of my birthday yesterday. Wow...that's a lot of voices singing "Happy Birthday" to me! I was blown away! Thanks for the warm reception in so many ways! The Preservation Hall Jazz Band from New Orleans came on after us, and then Chris Botti finished out the night beautifully! Perfect day….and I’m on my way for some R&R for a few days on the beach!
Happy Birthday to me!

My birthday is really in 2 days, but my husband with the help of a few close friends…put together the party of a lifetime for me. I’m in awe! So many people I love in one room at Lucy’s in Hollywood. Thank you for celebrating with me! Happy Birthday to me!
Newport Beach Jazz Festival Newport Beach, CA

What an incredible day! I came in early so I could just hang around and be a fan. I was hanging backstage with Candy Dulfer and she asked me if I’d like to come on stage and jam with her. Of course! I’m a huge fan, and I think she truly represents women instrumentalists like no one else across the globe. I had a blast playing “Pick Up The Pieces” with her. She’s amazing. Thanks, Candy, for a great time on stage. You’re the real thing! Peter White and I hit the stage to close out the show a few hours later, and we decided to pay tribute to Wayman Tisdale by ending our show with his version of “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now”. The crowd just jumped to their feet. Wow! What an incredible end to a perfect day! Thanks to Sherry Fisher for posting these photos on Facebook!
Jazz On The Vine Elkhart Lake, WI

Tonight there was great wine…great company…and great music at the Osthoff Resort. I hung backstage with Alex Bugnon, Kyle Eastwood, and his sax player Doug Webb, a long time friend. I used to go see Doug play when I moved to LA. I’m a fan! What a great band Kyle has put together. He also had Joel Taylor on drums…incredible…who played on my first demo I put together in LA with Tim Landers producing. Joel played every little dive jazz bar with me for years…barefoot and with a few beers by his hi-hat. Peter White and I hit the stage and rocked it. I’m having so much fun playing shows with him. At the end of the set Jim Peterik (who I’ve written a few songs with for my upcoming cd – you probably know him for writing “Eye of the Tiger” and “Vehicle”) came and sat in with us for our closer. He was great. What a fun night! I even had my aunt and uncle–in–law with me in the audience for the show. A perfect night of family and friends!
Rancho Mirage, CA

Tonight I filled in for Euge Groove (he’s just finishing up Tina Turner’s tour! Rock star!) in the annual Guitars and Saxes show. We’re in Palm Springs, and it’s absolutely breathtaking here, as usual! The show was great…I’ve played with Jeff Golub a lot, and we always rock the house together. He’s one of my favorite people and players on the planet. But I also got to play with Jeff Lorber…his music is incredible, and as a musician, it keeps me on my toes! And it was also “ladies night” with Jessy J and I playing together for the first time. That was a blast…a little girl power goes a long way!
Thornton Winery Temecula, CA

Perfect weather…even white flowers blowing across the grounds of the winery in the breeze during the concert. It was picture perfect! Usually it’s about 100 degrees here and I’m dripping wet by the 2nd song. This was a gorgeous night. Great wine, great friends. Thanks to everyone who came out…it was an extra magical night with David Benoit opening the evening. I love listening to him play…what inspiration! Thanks to Peter Tellone for this fun photo.
T-shirts...YES!

So many people over the past months have asked me for tshirts! Well, my friend Patty who’s done most of my album and tshirt artwork over the years has made it happen! She’s been one of the logo designers at Juicy Couture for many years, and I’m so lucky to get her to design a tshirt for me! She’s starting her own tshirt business out of her house using her own designs, and I’m her first outside work! I love that! She used a great photo that was taken at a show this past year by Sherry Fisher in San Diego. We thought it was great! Thanks, Sherry, for the photo. They're available now on the store page!
